A new life begins. Stories of weddings in the shadows of the Vespa (1946-1959)

Pontedera, 12 October 2016 - On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the vote for women in Italy, which takes place in conjunction with the 70th birthday of the Vespa (2016), the Piaggio Foundation pays particular attention to the condition of woman in history and society.
The exhibit A new life begins. Stories of weddings in the shadows of the Vespa (1946-1959) is organized by the Piaggio Foundation together with the University of the Third Age and Institute IPSIA “A. Pacinotti” of Pontedera; the setting up is curated by architect Enrico Agonigi.
The opening will be on Friday 14 October at 6.00 p.m.
The book by Marisa Anichini and Laura Ferrini published by Tagete A new life begins. Fiancées and brides in postwar Pontedera (1946-1959) will be presented. The presentation will be preceded by readings and music by actress Silvia Rubes and musicians Daniele Ristori and Guido Guidi. The event is followed by a cocktail.
