Three Vespa Douglas have arrived at the Piaggio Museum on loan courtesy by Robin Davy.
Here are the three models exhibited in the Vespa room of the Museum.
(starting from the left):
Vespa Douglas Rod Type with Transporter, manufactured in Bristol in 1951 by the British company Douglas Ltd. under Piaggio License. This Vespa is one of the first 100 made to leave the Douglas production lines and the only one Known with original Transporter.
Vespa Douglas Rod Type, manufactured in Bristol in 1953 by the British company Douglas Ltd. under Piaggio License. The vehicles has been in the property of Mr. Eric Brockway, President of Vespa Club of Britain.
Vespa Douglas “RAC” with Sidecar, manufactured in Bristol for the Royal Automobil Club in 1956 by the British company Douglas Ltd. under Piaggio License, is one of the only 11 Vespa with sidecar ever built by Douglas.
