LA VESPA E LA FARFALLA

From 18 July to 11 October 2015 the Piaggio Museum will host the exhibition named “The Vespa and the Butterfly. A century of Butterfly at the Piaggio Museum”. After a little more than 100 years from its first performance in 1904, this exhibition celebrates one of Giacomo Puccini’s best beloved operas, and it is above all the expression of a determination to “network” a series of excellent bodies in Tuscany (and further afield) with the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera, temple of another undisputed icon of Made in Italy: the Vespa. On show an elegant selection of stage costumes, sketches, and set designs from the archives and collections of the prestigious partners of the Piaggio Foundation, that retrace one century of performances of the Madama Butterfly on a symbolic red carpet.
